Class Times

Classes are held on Wednesdays for the senior group, ages 13 to 18 years of age and on Fridays for the Junior group, ages 7 to 12 years inc. Both classes run from 4.15 pm to 6.15 pm. There is a bus service from Austin Friars St Monica’s School, Etterby Scaur, Carlisle at a cost of £2 which goes direct to the Rockcliffe Centre at 4.00 pm on Fridays for those who want it.

Dress Code

There is a dress code in that all pupils during performances only wear a costume provided for them or polo shirts with the Wings of Eagles logo on it, combined with black trousers and black light weight shoes.

Clothing

White polo shirts, black cotton/elastane jazz pants, black trousers for the boys, black leather lightweight jazz shoes and velcro backed wings of Eagles Performing Arts Badges can all be obtained from the Principal or Administrator.

Course Accreditation

L.A.M.D.A. acting grades up to Gold Medal acting level, also Poetry to grade 4.

English Speaking Board (E.S.B.) examinations from Junior grade Introductory up to Advanced Certificate in Language Arts.

Wings of Eagles Performing Arts are now an accredited and registered centre for the English Speaking Board (International) Ltd. Assessments in Spoken English for the English Speaking Board. It is also a member of the Arts Centre Group (ACG) a national Christian organisation linking Christian professional performing artists and organisations.

Classes:

students are taught to both respect and encourage each other to succeed
students are encouraged to use both clear speech and good manners
classes are small with individual needs met
students are sometimes asked to perform in Church services although this is not insisted upon
simple prayers are said before performances and examinations
a sense of awareness about other peoples needs is made through fund raising events and charity performances

public speaking
characterisations
group discussions
dramatic readings

improvisation
short playlets and/or sketches
preparation work for examinations, rehearsals for competitions, concerts, festivals and church services
